Isn't it always the way? You hear a word for the first time in your life and then start hearing it everywhere! So it has been journeying with the topic of this pilot episode - pharmacists in the media - all the often embarrassing and sometimes cringeworthy examples of how pharmacists have been portrayed come creeping out of the woodwork! And since we recorded this in December 2025 further examples have revealed themselves including through an article recently published in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association and authored by Alexander Kim and colleagues* who concluded that "pharmacists have continued to be negatively portrayed in film and TV media over the past ten years". Fair enough! We would have included reference to this, obviously, but, sadly, I still haven't mastered the manipulation of time...

Anyway, welcome to the Pharmacy in the Bathtub podcast, produced by the postgraduate clinical pharmacy team at the University of Bath! We hope you enjoy this enthusiastic foray into the world of podcasting which we hope to continue with more academic and clinical topics in future. Honest!

Artwork credit goes to the brilliant, multitalented and multifaceted genius Ollie Brock who can only be described as a tremendous fellow!

We acknowledge and appreciate the help of Sacha (AV team, Univ. Bath) who patiently tutored us through the recording and edits of the podcast.
